Riders battle elements in first timed practice at 2010 Manx GP

Variable conditions around the course on the Isle of Man meant a short delay in this evening’s first timed practice for the 2010 Manx Grand Prix, sponsored by visitisleofman.com but the session got away just before 6.30pm last night.

International West Kent Run 7-8 August

Now 26 years old, the International West Kent Run is firmly established as a major event for older machines. It is organised, appropriately, by the West Kent Section of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club. Tradition dictates that it takes place annually around the first weekend in August.

Either side of WWII, Brands Hatch created a huge interest in grass track racing in the south-east of England. After the track was surfaced for road racing, it was left to other clubs to cater for the many thousands of enthusiasts still keen on off-road racing to travel to many venues across the area. The Folkestone Club’s track at Rhodes Minnis was always a bigger draw than most. Undulating, challenging and fast, the big money on offer would also tempt the top riders from speedway. Perhaps twice a year, star-studded fields usually guaranteed track racing at its best.
Grandstand and paddock the place to be for MGP Festival
