Many of the pictures were taken during practice sessions with riders emerging from the paddock; fascinating, evocative shots of both works riders and private owners. Superb stylist and Junior TT winner Freddie Frith is shown on his 350cc works Velocette and Artie Bell on his factory plunger-framed Norton. Later, a proud-looking 20-year-old Geoff Duke is pictured with the then revolutionary Featherbed-framed Manx Norton and veteran Lightweight TT winner Fergus Anderson is shown waiting with his 250cc Moto Guzzi.
