Bob Presley, Norton Owners Club Bristol Branch secretary and designer of the stand, spoke of his excitement at winning: “As we are now more than 50 years on from our first meeting, we wanted to mark the occasion and it’s a great honour to be recognised for our efforts.
“It was a tough task to put the display together but the response has been excellent, and winning the award for best club stand proves that the hard work has paid off.”
The Norton stand edged out the New Imperial Owners Association and Wells Classic Motorcycle Club – into third and second respectively – after votes from all the clubs in attendance at the show.

Second placed Wells might consider themselves unlucky after creating a stable style stand, with members’ machines in stalls and such details added as jockey’s helmets and riding gear.
Dave Bury, the club member who built the area, said: “It’s great to keep up the tradition of winning one of the three top prizes, as we have done for the last five years.
“We’ll be getting our thinking caps on ahead of next year to see how we can come up with something even better."
