Surprisingly, after 85 years in existence, this year, on August 24, marked the Vintage Sports Car Club’s first visit to Brands Hatch.
The four-wheelers of all ages, marques and capacities were joined by six Morgan three-wheelers, all at least 90 years old, but patently wearing well.
While not troubling the leaders, they had their own race within a race in the open events.

The later handicap races redressed the balance.
In the first, James Edwards took the flag in a 1929 1100cc Aero, but he was sharing the drive with Angus Frost, who was out in the next race. In spite of the hurried change-over Angus added a fourth to the day’s tally.
