The Coventry Museum of Transport's display had examples from the long list of that city's many manufacturers. Ironically, the stand was situated among the marvels created by modern technology from all around the world, although Coventry, now bereft of motorcycle manufacturers, is just a few miles down the road.

The Manx Nortons and other machines on the Isle of Man TT stand were eclipsed by the display of the trophies awarded annually at the Manx races. The Senior Trophy alone is insured for £1.7 million!

For a previous generation of coffee bar devotees, or modern riders seeking a history lesson, the Ace Cafe's marquee offered a nostalgia-fest with appropriate bikes.

Among the mainstream manufacturers, BMW has probably had more image changes than most and produced motorcycles that have deliberately bucked mainstream thinking. By way of proof, the company had taken an entire stand to display landmark models from its 90 years of motorcycle manufacture.
