There is no organisation, no officialdom, but the village green vanishes beneath lines of vintage and classic cars, with a border path providing useful hard-standing for bikes. Refreshments and a barbecue are courtesy of the adjacent pub.
The event is usually supported by local motorcycle clubs, but this year, early heavy rain persuaded many riders to postpone arrival until later, when the weather had relented. With no prizes, there was no pressure and it was an opportunity simply to look around, meet (or make) friends and see what everyone else had ridden.

The oldest bike was Nick Pearce's 1915 682cc Indian Little Twin. It had spent many years dismantled in a Portsmouth garage before Nick bought it at auction last year. The bike has been superbly restored and now only requires some fine tuning to the engine. Brian Hill's 1937 HRD Series A twin was another that had spent years dismantled before recent restoration made a dream come true for its owner.
