The 1954 International Senior TT Report

Adverse Weather Conditions Shorten Week’s Big Race to Four Laps. Ray Amm (Norton) of Southern Rhodesia Records his Second Successive Senior Victory: Geoff Duke (Gilera) is Second and Jack Brett (Norton) is Third. Norton Motors Ltd., Secure Team Prize.

Bad weather conditions caused last Friday’s International Senior T.T. culminating event in the Auto-Cycle Union’s 36th race meeting in the Isle of Man to be stopped after only four of the seven laps of the 37.73 mile ‘Mountain’ circuit had been covered. At that stage 26 year old Ray Amm from Salisbury Southern Rhodesia, winner of the 1953 ‘Senior’, again riding for Norton had taken the lead from Geoff Duke (Gilera) following the latter’s stop to refuel at the end of the third lap.
