On March 4, 2017, Dee Atkinson & Harrison’s sale at Sledmere House, Driffield, Yorkshire, is offering this Matchless Silver Hawk.
It is thought to be one of only 60 surviving examples of about 500 made. The estimate is £45,000-55,000.
First registered on March 8, 1933 in Taunton, Somerset, to a Mr A C Thomason, the Silver Hawk later found its way to Kent, then Yorkshire. In 2009 Bonhams sold the unrestored Matchless for £28,000.
