The show does go on

Despite the weather causing a postponement, the Bristol Classic Motorcycle show took place after all, three weeks later than planned.

Originally scheduled for the weekend of February 2/3, heavy snow meant that organisers were left with no option but to call off The 39th Carole Nash Bristol Classic MotorCycle Show (actually held in Shepton Mallet), with surrounding roads blocked and the site itself blanketed white.

Dave Atterbyโ€™s 1918 Indian, best in show.

Three weeks later, at the rescheduled event, the best in show was awarded to Dave Atterby, for his gleaming red Indian Powerplus. Dave bought the big V-twin while on holiday in Australia, then imported it back to the UK for restoration.

It stood on the end of the row on the VMCC Somerset sectionโ€™s display, (so alongside the walkway), stopping people in their tracks, not least for its bright finish, but also for its innovative features, including leaf springing front and rear, meaning this 1918 machine featured full suspension.
