Testing the 50cc 12-speed Kreidler racer in the Isle of Man, journalist David Dixon hit 98mph in ninth gear, a remarkable effort with Dixon’s 12 stone frame on board. The engine’s main power band was between 10 and 12,000rpm and it seemed to die below 8000rpm.
